Our first trip to Koh Nangyuan : Episode 1

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007

We love the beach. So this is the first time for our trip to Koh Nangyuan (Nangyuan Island). We decided to take a trasportation service by bus from Khaosan Road to Chumporn and after that we will take a highspeed catamaran from Chumporn to Koh Nangyuan, Suratthani province. Both bus and high speed catamaran by Lomprayah.

Our trip started from Khaosan Road. We checked-in for the bus around 20.30 hrs. and the bus will depart at 21.00 hrs. We have some quick dinner at a thai style street food vendor on Khaosan Road. The bus took approximately 7-8 hours from Bangkok to Chumporn. We reached the pier in Chumporn province around 5.00 hrs in the early morning.

You will noticed that the sky still dark. Every passengers seem to be tired but some passengers went to wash their face to stay awake. There is a mini-mart at the pier  where we can buy some bakery and coffee.  The small food stall is also provided at the pier. You can buy some breakfast also.

The early morning, the sun light was coming. Some people went out to the beach and take a photo of the beach and pier. The high speed catamaran await us at the end of the pier.

7.00 a.m. the catamaran departed from the pier. On the catamaran, a lot of seat available. I think it has more than 200 seats on the catamaran. The air-conditioning is really cold inside the catamaran. There were some video advertising about the diving service on Koh Tao and Koh Nangyuan. After the advertising, the dvd movies was showing up.

Koh Nangyuan is awaiting for us.

Thailand Hotel Review : Purimuntra Resort & Spa

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007

I have mentioned about Pranburi in the last article. Purimuntra Resort & Spa is the hotel that I stayed on my vacation in Pranburi. This hotel is considered as a boutique hotel in Pranburi (20 km. far from Hua-Hin).

(Purimuntra Resort & Spa atmosphere)

Purimuntra Resort and Spa, a newly launched beachfront Oriental-Style Boutique Resort in Thailand’s up-and-coming popular destination, Pranburi, offers oriental service and hospitality amidst the beauty of a magnificent landscape, adding up to an impressively memorable stay.

I stayed in this hotel during the low season. It is the monsoon season in Thailand but it is safe when we travel along the west coast of Thailand (Hua-Hin, Pranburi, and Chumporn) because the monsoon season will have big wave on Andaman sea. That’s why Thai people love to visit this area instead of Andaman Ocean during monsoon season. (more…)

Chill out in Pranburi

Saturday, August 18th, 2007

Pranburi is one of district in Prachuap Khiri Khan province. Pranburi beach is only 20 km. far from Hua-Hin, one of the top beach destination in Thailand.

Pranburi Beach

You may know Hua-Hin but never heard about Pranburi. I heard about Pranburi many times but I never go there until this time. We have a chance to book a hotel in Pranburi and give it a try.

I’m really impressed with an atmosphere of the beach. Less people on the beach than Hua-Hin. Hua Hin may be a well-established beach destination with word-class facilities coupled with a true sense of Thai hospitality. But Pranburi is a small town with a thai local charming. If you are sick of a lot of people on Hua-Hin beach, you can try Pranburi instead. Pranburi can give you the feeling of Hua-Hin in 20 years ago.
